All abstracts must be submitted through the online form below by the first author/presenter. Logging within the electronic platform is required prior to abstract submission.

The official language of the Conference is English. Written content (abstracts, slides, and posters) needs to be in English, and presenters should be able to participate in an English-based live discussion (please contact the Program Committee if this will be an undue burden). However, presenters may choose to give their presentation in a language other than English, as long as they include English subtitles with their talk. 

All presenters will be required to register for the conference by 12th July. Presenters who do not register by this date will not be included in the Conference programme. We will issue acceptance notices by June 28 so you can proceed with registering.

Authors may submit more than one presentation per registered attendee, but the organization cannot guarantee that more than one will be included as an oral presentation.

Standard oral presentation – These are presentations submitted by attendees for inclusion in a general oral session alongside other contributed presentations, which are grouped together by the Scientific Committee based on a common theme or a proposed event (please check the list of events open for contributed presentations here). Each presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes, including 5-min for discussion and for changing presenters.

Invited oral presentation – These are presentations that have been invited as part of an organized symposium or workshop that are not open for contributed presentations. Each presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes, including 5-min for discussion and for changing presenters.
Invited oral presentations will follow the same abstract submission and review process as Standard oral presentations. During the submission process, you will be asked to select the Symposia/Workshop where your talk will take place.

Poster presentation – Posters will be displayed in a single session, during which presenters will be available to discuss their work informally and answer questions. The maximum dimensions of Posters must be 100x100 cm.

During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to choose between oral and poster presentations. As the number of oral presentations at the Conference is limited, authors submitting abstracts for oral presentation may, in some cases, be invited to present a poster instead.

• Abstracts of oral and poster presentations should be maximum of 300 words in English, with a title of no more than 15 words.
• No references should be included in the abstract.
• A picture showing details of the work may be inserted, provided that the size of the whole document (text plus figure) does not exceed one page.
• It is the responsibility of the author(s) to ensure that the abstract text does not contain typos or grammatical errors.
• All authors named in the abstract should be listed in the order you would like them to appear in the Conference programme and certificate.
• Abstracts can only be submitted online using the abstract submission form.
• You will need to select the most appropiate topics from the list.
• After clicking the "Submit" button on the form page, you will receive a confirmation by email with the identification number of your abstract. You can use this reference for any notification regarding your contribution. If you do not receive this notification, please check your spam folder, or contact secretary@sere2022.org to confirm that your abstract has been received.

You will be able to enter the system and edit your contribution at any time until the submission deadline. Afterwards, you will not be able to modify any element (type of contribution, title, abstract or sequential list of authors).

The online abstract submission system is a simple step-by-step process, and you should fill in the following information:

• Type of presentation
• Topic that best encompasses the session
• Select the Symposia/Workshop where your talk will take place *Only for Oral Presentations

Standard Oral Presentations will be able to select proposed events who are open for voluntary presentations or participate in an open session. Invited Oral Presentations will be able to select proposed events who have been invited to speak at.

• Name and affiliation of the presenter (this person will be the main contact for this abstract, and should appear as the first author)
• Name and affiliation of the co-author/s
• Title (15 words limit)
• Summary (300 words limit)
• Keywords (up to 5)
• Word document upload: Remember to send your abstract using the template. You can upload the document in these formats: Doc., Docx.

Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee with regard to scientific quality and relevance to the Conference.

Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstracts will be issued upon receipt and no later than 20th June 2022.

Please do not submit an abstract unless you are committed to participating in the conference. Cancellations impose a serious burden and negatively impact the overall quality of the conference program. If extenuating circumstances force you to cancel your participation and you are unable to find a co-author or colleague to give your presentation on your behalf, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible at secretary@sere2022.org so we can update the program accordingly.
